Valorant: Closed beta kicks off; 1.5 million viewers on Twitch
As previously announced, Riot Games has recently kicked off the closed beta of Valorant, a new and interesting project from the development team already the author of the very popular League of Legends.
In case you were among the very lucky users who received an access key to the game, it is likely that by now you are already assaying the production's ludic features with your own hands, but if not, as Riot Games itself suggests, you can cheat the wait by watching streaming broadcasts related to the game directly on Twitch.
It's time for EU/NA.

Speaking of Twitch, it really seems that Valorant took very little time to carve out a prominent position within the platform's rankings, so much so that within a very few hours total viewers touched and exceeded the 1.5 million mark; absolutely mind-boggling numbers that testify to the incredible curiosity revolving around this project.
Moving away sharply from the "MOBA shores" of their League of Legends, with Valorant the guys at Riot Games have decided to throw themselves headlong into the world of competitive first-person shooters, creating a game that is aptly described as the meeting point between Counter Strike and Overwatch.
The definition does indeed ring true, and a quick look at the game will be enough to realize how much the basic gameplay actually owes a lot to Valve's shooter, while adding to the formula the special powers typical of Overwatch characters.
In any case, the game structure is a real statement of intent in favor of the competitive world, and the developers' desire to create a game capable of establishing itself as a new paradigm within the e-sports scene is clear.
Unfortunately, there is currently no firm release date available for version 1.0 of the game, but the developers assure that despite the current Coronavirus emergency, the title will not miss the coming Summer 2020.
Instead, below is the official trailer released by the development team to celebrate the start of the closed beta. Enjoy!
